They remain a constant 72°F year-round. During the winter, they are often home to manatees looking for warmer waters than the Gulf of Mexico. This is the side of Florida, not many people see and experience. The most frequent response when I tell people I went swimming in a body of water in Florida is, “But there are alligators!” And that’s true, there are.
